JIIL Editor-in-Chief Prof. Zhi Liu Showcases New Journal at ICET 2026

The 6th International Conference on Educational Technology (ICET 2026) was successfully held in Wuhan from October 23-26, 2026. As an official media partner of the conference, the Journal of Interactive and Intelligent Learning(JIIl)made its official appearance.

During the event, Prof. Zhi Liu, Founding Editor-in-Chief of JIIL and Professor at Central China Normal University, presented the journal to attending experts and scholars. He highlighted JIIL's mission to break down disciplinary barriers and serve as a dialogue platform bridging technology and educational mechanisms, specifically focusing on the underlying mechanisms of "Interaction × Intelligence".

Prof. Zhi Liu is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Central China Normal University, and a core expert at the Ministry of Education's Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Education. He has been recognized as a CNKI Top 1% Highly Cited Scholar (2024, 2025) and holds seven ESI Highly Cited Papers. He was a Guest Researcher at Humboldt University of Berlin and will be a Visiting Scholar at DFKI (2025-2026).

Sponsored by the Greater Bay Area StarNexus Innovation Institute and published by StarNexus Science Press (Hong Kong), JIIL is an interdisciplinary journal spanning education, computer science, and cognitive science. The journal is honored to have Prof. Gerry Stahl, a founder of the international CSCL field, as Honorary Editor-in-Chief. The editorial board consists of 36 core scholars from top universities (including HKU, PolyU, ZJU, and CCNU), all of whom are substantively involved in the rigorous 3-4 person double-blind peer review process following COPE ethical standards.

Call for Papers & Publishing Policies:

  • No APC for Early Issues: Article Processing Charges (APC) are fully waived for the first 5 issues. Starting from Issue 6, the APC is only $180.

  • Waiver Opportunities: Partial accepted papers are eligible for full APC waivers (APC will never influence editorial decisions).

  • Fast Publication: 8-12 weeks to publication.

  • Global Visibility: Gold Open Access (CC BY 4.0), with authors retaining copyright. Articles are indexed in Crossref, OpenAlex, and Google Scholar.

  • Submission Types: Research Articles (6,000-8,000 words), Review Articles (4,000-5,500 words), and Perspectives (1,000-3,000 words).

  • Note: Submissions must include an AI Usage Statement, and abstracts must be bilingual (Chinese and English).
